King's Cove Marina is a full-service family-owned marina in Hastings, MN that strives to provide a friendly environment for boaters to experience the boating lifestyle. King's Cove offers slip rental in a safe and private harbor minutes away from the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers, boat repair, boat sales, a boating store and boat rentals. We have been serving boating customers for 46 years. We are located at Mile 812.7 on the Upper Mississippi River.
William H. King and group of investors bought Red Wing Motors in Red Wing, MN in the 1950s, where they built Casa Cruiser housebouts with Red Wing Motors. Bill King would ride the train from Saint Paul where he lived to Red Wing every day to get to work. While riding back and forth on the train daily, Bill H. became aware of a small lake just off the main channel of the Mississippi River and right above the mouth of the St. Croix River called Lake Conley. Bill H. King envisioned something much greater for that little lake. He could see it as the perfect spot for a large marina in a well-protected harbor. In the 1960s, Bill H. started acquiring land and eventually ended up with 280 acres. He then applied for permits from the United States Corps of Engineers and the Minnesota Division of Natural Resources for the channel. Not long after that, the marina was granted the permits, and the channel was built.
In 1966, the Marina opened with about 100 slips. The largest slip available was only 50 feet. Over the years, the Marina continued to grow and undergo imporvements and enhancements. Today there are over 480 slips at the Marina.
Today we are celebrating 46 years in business. We are currently undergoing renovations on our office building to fix water damage caused by a violent wind storm in 2008. We also intend to enhance the landscaping around the area as well.
